Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting for a Kaitohutohu whakatairanga - Marketing Adviser to join the University’s Marketing team. The role will be responsible for creating, reviewing and maintaining content for marketing channels, including print and digital publications, the University and external websites, and marketing campaigns across a wide range of stakeholders, including future students, education agents, and partner universities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create, write, and review content for the international and domestic future students websites. 
  • Maintain the University’s profiles on external websites to ensure accurate and compelling content is available to global users.
  • Create and regularly review content for email marketing campaigns that aligns with the University's key messages.
  • Work collaboratively within the University’s marketing teams to help develop, deliver, and monitor high-quality, coordinated marketing campaigns.
  • Work with external suppliers including freelance editors, digital marketing agencies, printers, and partners to create, manage, and deliver marketing content.
  • Work with the lead student for the University's ambassador platform to ensure all ambassadors receive regular training and support, and that the platform is promoted prominently across the University's channels.
  • Support the wider Marketing team as required.

Key Requirements:

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in marketing or a related discipline.
  • At least four years of proven experience in a professional marketing or content role.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and deliver plain English content for diverse channels.
  • Flexibility and clear understanding of audience – the ability to create and adapt content for marketing purposes for diverse stakeholders.
  • Previous experience in writing for the web, publications, and social media.
  • Proofreading and editing skills, and an eye for detail.
  • Demonstrated skill in developing and maintaining effective relationships, and working effectively within teams.
  • Experience in managing projects, meeting deadlines, and identifying issues.
