Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Kaiārahi Matua, Tauria - Senior Student Interest and Conflict Resolution Adviser on a permanent, full-time basis. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to grow their leadership skills and contribute to service delivery improvements, enjoys the challenge of resolving conflict, gets satisfaction from providing holistic support to students and understands the importance of following clear processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complaints and complex case management.
  • Student critical incident response and coordination.
  • Service development and business continuity.
  • Project work relating to obligations under the Pastoral Care Code.
  • Prevention and education.
  • Relationship management and teamwork.

Ō pūmanawa - About you

You will be a motivated, solutions focussed individual with great communication skills and enjoy this role if you have an ability to influence and manage conflict constructively, have strong attention to detail and good self-management skills. This role will be busy, rewarding and allow you to connect with staff and students from across the University community.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience in responding to and resolving complaints and/or complex interpersonal situations.
  • Experience in ability to follow complex policies and procedures with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Passionate about project work that improves and streamlines processes to enhance the management of complex and high-risk student cases.
