Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting for a Deputy Head of Hall to join the Campus Operations Directorate at the University on a permanent, full-time basis.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the Tumuaki Taupuni - Head of Hall to run a 24/7 efficient, compliant, cost-effective service with a focus on engagement and connection.
  • Support the recruitment, training, development, and supervision of Community Advisers.
  • Ensure compliance with the University’s policies, procedures, and reporting obligations, those relating to health and safety and risk management.

Ō pūmanawa - About you

You will have:

  • An understanding of the duty of pastoral care.
  • Experience supporting student academic success and personal growth.
  • A tertiary qualification.
  • Experience in problem solving, budgeting and administration, event planning and conflict resolution.
  • Experience applying restorative justice principles.
  • Experience as a first responder for critical incidents and risk management experience in a welfare context would also be an advantage.
